Version 15.0 Release

Version 15.0 is now available via electronic and physical distribution. As part of a commitment to core model development, the release incorporates new data, science, and methodological enhancements to provide the latest views of risk for the RMS Europe Windstorm Models and the RMS North Atlantic Hurricane Models.

Version 15.0 Software

Current distribution of version 15.0 does not include Enterprise Grid Computing (EGC) version of RiskLink 15.0. RiskLink EGC for HPC 2008 is now available, and RiskLink EGC for HPC 2012 will be available later this year.
Additional secondary products, including HailCalc and Data Quality Toolkit, are targeted for release in the second quarter. For more information on the impacts and release timelines for RMS primary and secondary products in version 15.0, please refer to the Version 15.0 Software Scope and Rationale Presentation.

RMS U.S. Enhanced FEMA Flood Zone Update


The first quarter update to the 2015 RMS U.S. Enhanced FEMA Flood Zone Data (2015 Package 1) is now available. This update reflects all changes made to FEMA Flood Insurance Rate Maps from October – December 2014. RMS clients who license this data in RiskBrowser Online automatically receive this update. RiskLink and RiskBrowser clients who license this data can contact their account manager to request access to the data files. More on RMS U.S. Enhanced FEMA Flood Zone Data.
 


2015 RMS Offshore Platform Industry Exposure Database

The 2015 RMS Offshore Platform Industry Exposure Database (IED) is now available. It will be updated monthly throughout the 2015 Atlantic hurricane season to provide clients with the most up-to-date exposure data regarding mobile rigs. Clients who license this database can contact their account manager to request access to the data files. More on the RMS Offshore Platform IED.

 


Registration Open for May CCRA exam
 
Certified Catastrophe Risk Analyst (CCRA) designation exams will be held on May 21 at select offices. Registration is open through May 7.  Applicants who have completed the CCRA course will receive an e-mail with instructions on registering.  If you are eligible and would like to sign up but did not receive instructions please contact deb.dahlby@rms.com.

RMS is proud to partner with re:focus partners and private sector leaders The Rockefeller Foundation, Swiss Re, and Goldman Sachs to launch RE:bound, a new program that will create new insurance-based products to finance resilient infrastructure and risk-reduction projects. Read more here
 
Tokyo recently announced a plan to halve expected earthquake casualties in the next decade. RMS is urging other cities and countries to also set specific, measurable disaster risk reduction targets. Check out our recent press release, which includes comments from Robert Muir-Wood on the value of specific disaster reduction commitments.
 
RMS was invited to a roundtable discussion with U.S. Secretary of Commerce Penny Pritzker at the Flatiron School in New York City about non-traditional university and skill-driven programs. RMS has partnered with the Flatiron School since their opening in 2012.
